The deployment of the One UI 7 overlay update will be accompanied by the Samsung Good Lock application, available to everyone on the Galaxy Store and the Google Play Store.
Samsung Good Lock is an aggregator of personalization applications, available only on the Galaxy Store and accessible only in certain regions of the world. With the arrival of the new Galaxy S25 range, which will be presented during Galaxy Unpacked on January 22 (if the rumors prove correct), the South Korean company is preparing not only to install the update of the overlay One UI 7, but also to offer its Good Lock application to all countries and on the Google application store.
Of course, Good Lock remains downloadable only on Galaxy smartphones, but its international deployment says a lot about Samsung's strategy, which seeks to please its community of users, who have been wanting to take advantage of this customization tool for a long time.
What does Good Lock bring to users?
Good Lock is therefore an application aggregator that allows you to deeply personalize the interface of Galaxy devices and access settings via the Home UP module. In particular, it allows you to manage the small external screen of the Galaxy Z Flip, Samsung's folding (powder compact style) smartphones.
For the occasion, Good Lock will undergo a complete overhaul in order to improve its accessibility, simplifying the management of parameters and optimizing the search for tools with a filter system. With Good Lock, application icons will no longer be restricted in a grid display and the Camera Assistant module will allow you to schedule direct backup of videos to external devices connected via USB-C.
In terms of functionality, One UI 7 (under Android 15) also provides for the arrival of satellite communications, but also the customization of icons with images from your gallery.
Samsung warns that some of the features will not be operational from the launch of One UI 7, delayed by a few months, but the next updates should unlock them gradually.
