And he has excellent reasons to criticize the festival.
There is little pleasures that we will never get tired ofeven in 2025 and among this list, we find in particular the moments when rockers draw the sulphate to say what they think while being outrageous. Some, like Liam Gallagher, are accustomed to doing so and it doesn’t surprise many people to see them say something bad about something, even if it’s still funny. Others, like Neil Young, are usually more discreet. But when they are not happy and open their mouths, it is better not to be the target of their criticismlike the Glastonbury festival which is paying the price today!
Under the control of a company?
It is on his own website, Neil Young Archives, that the singer and guitarist decided to light up the Glastonbury festival, for reasons that seem rather justified at first glance:
We were told that the BBC were now partners with Glastonbury and wanted us to do a lot of things that didn’t interest us. It seems that Glastonbury is now under the control of a company and it doesn’t look like I remember it.
We won’t be playing Glastonbury on this tour because it’s become a corporate event. It’s not what it was for me anymore. Hope to see you at one of the other venues on the tour.
We can say that the artist does not take things lightly. However, we do not know not what partnership with the BBC Neil Young is talking about in his message, since we have already seen the English channel broadcasting images from the festival for many years on its various channels. Moreover, when Neil Young came to Glastonbury in 2009, his performance was broadcast by the BBC.
