The starters for Quinté+ this Friday, January 3
LIMOURS PRICEFRIDAY JANUARY 3
Paris-Vincennes – 2100 METERS – DEPARTURE: 8:15 p.m.
The forces present
Recently noticed in a superior field, although the males and geldings were absent, HAUTE COTE DE NUIT (1) approaches this meeting in excellent spirits. Holder of two podiums in three attempts on this course, she seems to have a theoretical first chance. The timid opposition will be led by HAPPY DU Bois (4), who will have against him his lack of experience on the left, as well as HERMES DE CLOPEAU (11), whose last two performances are excellent, and HELLA DE JANA (10) , who signed a very honorable final effort in the last place (5th). HARCOUEL (7) has not been particularly lucky lately, but he cannot be ignored at the time of choice, just like HERMES PAT (14), who recently resurfaced on the course that interests us. GOODMORNING CHARLY (6) and GALOPIN DE BLOT (12) mainly shone in the provinces, but the field is so modest that they deserve a mention.

The starters in detail and the opinions of the pros
1 – HIGH NIGHT COAST
This representative of Enzo Lelièvre performed very well last week over 2700 meters, against her cadets. This time, she will not find the 6 years and is presenting herself on a course that suits her. She shouldn't be far from the truth.
Enzo Lelièvre, trainer:
“Haute Côte de Nuit (1) was unable to express itself in the final phase a few days ago in Vincennes, while it still had resources. This time, it benefits from a less demanding commitment, and the course should not pose any problem. She runs closely but was not marked by her last outing. She has a very good theoretical chance. »
2 – HIP HOP THEY EAT
Winner against his contemporaries on October 18, this son of Sereno was unable to benefit from favorable circumstances during his two following outings. He has no margin but inherited an ideal number. For a surprise.
Christophe Alain Mallet, trainer:
“Hip Hop by Madker (2) was not unworthy during his last release, especially since he presented himself after a month of absence and perhaps lacked rhythm. It will be more operational on Friday. I have the impression that the opposition is less strong than last time. He pulled a good starting number and is not out of contention for places. »
3 – GREYSON
This gelding has won his best titles under the saddle and has not finished on the podium in harness since June 2022. His last performance is less bad than the gross ranking (7th) suggests, but he will have everything even hard to do in this ordeal.
Éric Beudard, coach:
“Greyson (3) alternates between the two specialties with some success. This summer, like many of my horses, he was ill, and it took me a while to get him back to his level. His recent performance in Meslay-du-Maine, on horseback, really pleased me. He doesn't have an interesting program under the saddle at the moment, so we continue on the sulky. The distance will suit him and his driver should get along well with him, because he must be preserved in the race. Although it took him a while to recover from his illness, he now seems to be back in good shape. I wouldn't be surprised to see him finish in the top five. »
4 – HAPPY DU BOIS
This serious trotter approaches this meeting in full possession of his means. However, he lacks references on reduced routes and has not appeared on a left-handed course since March 2021. A great possibility, but…
Eddy Planchenault, coach:
“Everything is looking good for Happy du Bois (4) in this Quinté+. He is in good shape and has inherited a good number behind the autostart. I think he's moving down the category. It's better on the right hand, but we tried it on the left hand a fortnight ago and it proved convincing. Matthieu Abrivard, his driver, will have carte blanche, but the horse performs better when he can be preserved. He will probably wear the American closed cap for the first time. With a smooth run, I would be disappointed if he didn't finish in the top three or four. »
5 – GENEVARIES
Claimed by Antonin Favris after his victory on August 19 at Cagnes, this son of Niky then made many mistakes at the start. He has a zero score on this course and must above all reassure at the moment. His task will not be easy.
Antonin Favris, coach:
“Genevrier (5) was declared a non-starter at Croisé-Laroche because of an abscess in one foot. He works well, but I struggle to obtain results in competition. It remains delicate, especially at the start. We made adjustments in training, but I need him to reassure me in the race. I'm really in doubt with him. »
6 – GOODMORNING CHARLY
Impeccable last winter in the provinces, this student of Benoît Olicard was probably carefully prepared for this golden commitment, only €405 from the ceiling. Even with only one race in his legs, he deserves a special mention.
Benoît Olicard, trainer:
“Goodmorning Charly (6) has just had a great comeback race in Bordeaux, while he was shod. He has progressed since this release. I would have preferred that he had an extra run in his legs before this engagement. Now hardened, it should adapt to the big Vincennes track without problem. With a good run, he can aim for a place at the end of the combination. »
7 – HARCOUEL
This wait-and-see has not benefited from favorable circumstances recently, in well-composed lots. He has no room for maneuver, but the field being modest, he undoubtedly has the means to finish in the top five.
The reporter's opinion:
“Harcouel (7) performed well on this course recently, completing his journey in 1'11''6. He moves down the category and faces his elders this time. Like many of his opponents, he must benefit from a tailor-made course to fully express himself. If the racing circumstances are favorable to him, he can certainly take a place. »
8 – GLOUGLOU D’EMI
Disappointing since his victory on September 18 in Dieppe, he finds here a course on which he had failed at the end of the summer (11th). Presented shod this time, a configuration in which he has not finished in the top three since March 2023, he will have difficulty standing out.
Stéphane Provoost, coach:
“Glouglou d’Emi (8) has no margin. He runs shod and will go outside, which is a serious disadvantage. His task promises to be complicated. »
9 – GLORIOUS BEAUTIFUL
After several honorable performances in good quality fields, this brave trotter was disturbed by the false starts and the frantic pace on December 17 in Cabourg. He inherited a terrible number but appreciates this speed course. Fifth possible.
Stéphane Provoost, coach:
“During his last outing in Cabourg, Glorioso Bello (9) was unable to stand out in a very fast-paced race. With this number all out, it will have to be taken back when leaving. Everything will have to go perfectly to hope to “pick up” a few competitors in the final phase. »
10 – HELLA DE JANA
During her last outing, this Belgian mare posted a very decent final effort in a good field of females. She does not have a big margin but will start in the wake of HAUTE CÔTE DE NUIT (1), who has a first chance. She can get a place.
Kristof Depuydt, driver:
“Hella de Jana (10) is regular and in good shape. During her last outing, she could have obtained a better ranking with a more favorable course. Its slow start to the volta remains a serious handicap. With a second row start behind the autostart here, she will have to benefit from favorable circumstances. If so, she has her place at the finish. »
11 – HERMES DE CLOPEAU
When he does not make a mistake, this representative of Jérôme Hérard rarely finishes outside the top five. He has shown his form recently and has already proven his competitiveness on a speed course. Associated with the Sulky d'Or, it has its place in the winning combination.
Jérôme Hérard, trainer:
“Hermès de Clopeau (11) poorly negotiated the last turn at Pontchâteau, which, in my opinion, deprived him of success. During his previous outing, on the 2850 meters of the big Vincennes track, he had achieved a very good performance, despite the fact that he presented himself five days apart and faced tough opposition. The short distance will not be a problem for him and I was able to enlist the services of Éric Raffin. I am confident. »
12 – BLOT GALOPIN
At 8 years old, this gelding will compete in his second race in the temple of trotting. He has just placed third in Bordeaux, among good competitors, and will be driven by Benjamin Rochard. Given the quality of the field, he could finish among the top four or five.
The reporter's opinion:
“Galopin de Blot (12) remains on a good end to the race in Bordeaux, facing quality opponents. He only ran once on the course that interests us, without really shining, but his performance was still satisfactory. In this homogeneous field, he is capable of creating a surprise in the event of failure of the most prominent horses. »
13 – HAVANA PARIS
This wait-and-see has already shone in well-composed lots, but she has shown nothing in recent months. Even if she will appear completely unshod for only the fifth time in her career, she will only be considered an outsider.
Clément Frecelle, trainer and driver:
“After a period of rest, Havana Paris (13) completed two warm-up races. She still lacks the pace to be competitive at this level. »
14 – HERMES PAT
After a difficult period, this son of Up And Quick recently resurfaced on this course (4th), for his second course under the guidance of Matthieu Varin. If he repeats this performance, he can grab a place.
Matthieu Varin, coach:
“Hermès Pat (14) recently arrived at the stable and behaved very well during his second outing under my responsibility. He is in good condition and I admit to having aimed for this event. He has changed a lot, both physically and mentally, and shows great desire. The sea suits him perfectly. I'm going to ask his driver to preserve it as long as possible and wait for the good wagon of the third thickness. He is, in my opinion, the class horse of the lot. If he travels well, I see him on the podium. »
