A person is in police custody this Thursday, January 2 as part of an investigation opened for “manslaughter with a hit-and-run” after the accident which led to the death of a 15-year-old teenager during New Year's Eve in Strasbourg, communicated the prosecution.
A 20-year-old man surrendered
“A police custody measure is underway as part of the open investigation into the charge of manslaughter with a hit-and-run” by the Strasbourg public prosecutor's office, he indicated, confirming information from the Latest News from Alsace. According to the newspaper, the man suspected of having driven the vehicle which hit the teenager in the sensitive district of the Cité de l'Ill surrendered to the authorities on Wednesday evening. It would be a 20-year-old man, living in the neighborhood.

The events occurred around 1 a.m., according to a police source. The victim was initially transported to hospital with a life-threatening prognosis, then he later died, added this source.
