Disney+ at 2 euros per month, huge promotion, but is it really a good deal?

Disney+ is launching a promotion that may seem attractive: €1.99 per month for its subscription with advertising, valid for one year. But behind this offer, there are important reservations about user experience, especially if you have teenagers at home.

A promotion that gets people talking: Disney+ for less than €2 per month

From January 3 to 21, 2025, Disney+ is offering its Standard subscription with advertising at €1.99 per month, instead of the usual €5.99. This 66% discount is good for one year, with no commitment, which may seem ideal for those on a tight budget. But be careful, this formula, which could appeal to former subscribers via Canal+, is not without its flaws.

Ads that ruin the experience

Even if the Disney+ catalog is undeniably quality, the formula with advertising is frankly painful. The cuts are long, frequent, and completely break the immersion. For adults, this is already annoying, but if you plan to use this subscription with your children, the problem is even more serious. There is indeed a safeguard, since the profiles Junior who only have access to a limited part of the catalog are free of advertisements, but, for older children who want to watch series that are a little more adult, they will be bombarded with advertisements.

An interesting offer… but not without drawbacks

If the classic Standard subscription at €10 per month is out of your budget, this promotion can actually be a solution to benefit from affordable access to the Disney+ catalog. But quite honestly, the formula with advertising, even at 2 euros per month (and even more at 6€ per month) is difficult to recommend given the bad experience it offers. If you ask me, a service with this much advertising should be free. Paying for so many advertisements is not acceptable, and there is no doubt that for Disney+, given the quantity of cuts, even at 2 euros per month, they are perfectly within their costs.

So, should we let ourselves be tempted or not?

If you are ready to tolerate advertisements or plan to only use Junior profiles, this promo could be a good opportunity to discover Disney+ at a lower cost. But if you are looking for a pleasant and smooth experience, it is better to pay the price and choose the Standard subscription, which will cost you 76 euros more per year than this promotion, but believe me, these 76 euros are worth it , so as not to tear your hair out with each cut!

If you still want to take advantage of the promotion, see you tomorrow, January 3 on the Disney+ website to subscribe.
