The Black and Whites endured a frustrating draw at Raydale, where striker Reece Paterson scored his second consecutive goal, giving his side an early lead.
Despite dominating chances throughout the first half, the home side struggled to convert their opportunities into additional goals. This inability to capitalize proved problematic just after the hour mark, when Tuacenio Dos Santos scored a crucial equalizer for the visitors, allowing them to come away with a valuable point.
After the match, Anvils coach Vinnie Parker did not mince his words, saying: “It’s 100% two points wasted. We had enough opportunities in the first 20 minutes to put the match in the dugout we missed our chances and there was palpable frustration in the locker room after the match.
Parker went on to reflect on the positives: “If we look at it closely, we created a myriad of opportunities, but not realizing them cost us dearly.”

Looking ahead, both teams are set to meet again this Saturday at the Dumbarton Football Stadium, where Parker acknowledged the need for tactical adjustments, saying: “We may have to review our attacking set-up, maybe move forward a man to make the difference. We have to convert our opportunities into goals.”
Concluding his thoughts, Parker expressed his gratitude to the Gretna fans: “The support we have received has been incredible. I believe we play attractive football. We are competitive and we always look like we can get wins. wins, and I think the fans are getting their money’s worth. Our goal is to capitalize on that momentum, and to do that, success is paramount.”
