This morning of Thursday, January 2, 2025 is resplendent. The last clouds left the shores of the South-East at the end of the night. Like the previous days, cloudiness will return to the interior before midday. Clouds move westward in the early afternoon. Showers are expected in Saint-Paul Bay. The thermometer shows 33°C towards Saint-Pierre.
“The start of the day is profitable, the weather is fine everywhere, the last showers of the night are finishing to evacuate the East and South-East of the department”writes Météo France La Réunion. This bright weather fades inside the department before the mid-day meal.
The cloudiness becomes denser at the start of the afternoon, particularly above the slopes of the leeward coast: “Seasonal showers are expected mainly in the West, it can spill over to Saint-Denis. Elsewhere, the weather remains milder with even beautiful sunny beaches on Saint-Pierre or Saint-Joseph.”
The sky, less cloudy on the coast, will be overcast in the bay of Saint-Paul.
The easterly flow remains weak. The breezes dominate. A few wind gusts of 50 km/h, maximum, are expected around “Gillot and Saint-Joseph. They then go back towards Saint-Pierre and the beach region in the afternoon.”
The temperatures are not weakening. Specialists predict 30 to 33°C on the coast (33 in Saint-Pierre), 26 in Salazie, 27 in Salazie and 30°C in La Nouvelle. We expect 17 to 20°C on the summits.
The sea is beautiful but slightly rough.
