On TF1 we watch at 9:10 p.m. The blockbuster Wonder Woman. For the heiress to the kingdom of the Amazons, everything changes with the irruption of a US pilot on her island in the middle of the First World War. From then on, Diana sets herself the mission of putting an end to this butchery which in her eyes is the demonic work of Ares, the god of war… Unlike most blockbusters of the genre, Wonder Woman is fully part of the world of comics. Ultra graphic shots, stylized freeze frames, peplum-style kistch patina come to life on the screen: fans can rejoice.
And 9:10 p.m M6 offers the animated film The Lion King. The initiatory journey of a lion cub, heir to an immense kingdom, but forced into exile by a Machiavellian uncle who seeks to conquer the throne… There is both “Bambi” and Shakespeare in this beautiful African saga which remains one of Disney’s biggest successes. Featuring impressive moments (the charge of the wildebeest) and endearing characters (Timon and Pumbaa) who would later stand on their own two feet, the film won two Oscars (for Hans Zimmer’s music and Elton John’s songs). and spawned a sequel, a television series and even a musical!
France 2 put on at 9:10 p.m. on, The Golden Bravos. From the Marigny Theater in Paris. For the first time, a retrospective of all the events of the year is combined with a ceremony which rewards the greatest successes of the past year, without going through votes or juries. These “Golden Bravos” are in fact awarded based on concrete figures: theatrical admissions, book sales, television audiences, podcast listening or even streaming downloads, proof of the popularity encountered. An approach that highlights creations that have truly won over the public. Only the “Special Bravo of the Year 2024” category is subject to a vote by the readers of Le Parisien / Today in France. With 18 categories, the “Golden Bravos” cover practically all cultural disciplines as well as sport.
