A vehicle drove into a crowd in a tourist area of New Orleans on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday. It killed at least 10 people and injured 30 others, authorities in the American city announced.

“We are responding to an accident which caused a large number of victims. It involves a vehicle that drove into a crowd on Canal and Bourbon Street. There are 30 injured and 10 dead,” said the city’s emergency authority.
The mayor of this city in the south of the country immediately denounced “a terrorist attack”, while the FBI does not confirm the information at this stage.
In the middle of New Year’s Eve
Emergency services did not specify the time of the eventsbut the area must have been crowded with people celebrating the New Year in this historical and festive area known as the “French Quarter”.
CBS News cite witnesses who claim that a truck drove into the crowd at “high speed” before its driver jumps out and starts shooting with a weapon, prompting a police response.
