The launch of the next DS model is coming soon. Without knowing at the moment the exact date of presentation, we discovered this Monday its official name but also the design of its dashboard. Let's study this more closely.
The teaser campaign for DS's next high-end SUV coupe is coming to an end. After discovering its illuminated grille this summer and its general appearance a few days ago, the brand is today lifting the veil partly on its stern, on its dashboard but also and above all on its official name. It will not be the DS 8 but the DS N°8.
We were almost there
It is therefore right that the name had never been shared until then. It was definitely a question of proposing a different name. Moreover, this DS N°8 will launch a new fashion. Future models will use this same pattern: DS N°3, DS N°4, DS N°7, etc. The inspiration is obvious. DS went to draw it from the world of luxury. Looking forward to a potential DS N°5 if you see where we’re going with this…
A logo in full
Another surprise at the discovery of the stern, partly revealed by this new teaser. The DS logo disappears in favor of the brand name in full…and complete. Please note that DS is the short version of DS Automobiles. We should also find this on future vehicles.
Between the DS 7 and the DS 9
Finally, let us emphasize that we were not wrong about the figure because the “8” is there. No doubt, by its dimensions, this vehicle will be placed between the compact/family SUV DS 7 (4.59 m) and the large road sedan DS 9 (4,93 m).
100% electric and chic
Two other important elements to remember from this communication.
A purely electric car
On the one hand, DS speaks ofa 100% electric vehicle. If its STLA Medium platform is multi-energy (it is that of the latest Peugeot 3008), the manufacturer seems to be sticking to its plan shared a few years ago, namely only sell zero-emission models from now on. In case of lack of success, she can always go back anyway.
A neat interior
Finally, we discover the dashboard of this new model. Generally speaking, the vertical treatment is very reminiscent of the DS 4, but the interior environment of this DS N°8 stands out by its “X” steering wheel, its more refined floating central console et its spectacular storm doors. The two-tone blue and gold treatment is undeniably high-end, the materials used seem opulent at first glance. It seems that DS has taken particular care with its latest creation and done everything to make it stand out from other vehicles from the Stellantis group. All that remains is to discover the final result!
