To end the year in style, another feature film show will take place on Monday, December 30 for all the “Who knows something like that?” fans. Tonight, moderator Kai Pflaume welcomes not just two, but six leading candidates.

Markus Lanz and Richard David Precht, Annett Louisan and Melissa Naschenweng, as well as Till Reiners and Felix Lobrecht are fighting. But the ARD production had even more surprises in store during the broadcast. However, not all of them are well received by viewers.

“Who knows something like that?” bring animals into the studio

The first duel will pit Till Reiners and Bernhard Hoeker against Felix Lobrecht and Elton. Teams take turns answering questions correctly to win money. The resolution is usually done by a player, but not always that night. Small acrobatic demonstrations and chemical experiments are performed live in the studio in front of the audience – just like the animals.

To thunderous applause, a steppe fox is suddenly rolled into a large glass display case on wheels. The sight of the animal raises the question: “When will steppe foxes native to Central Asia follow migrating herds of saiga antelope?” For many viewers, however, this takes a back seat. Here are some reactions on Facebook:

  • “Where is it necessary to take the fox in the studio?”
  • “The steppe fox didn’t make a relaxed impression on me either. Why was it allowed to applaud? I remember a special edition with animals where clapping was forbidden!
  • “What’s the point of bringing the fox into the studio?” Shame on you.”
  • “And now another animal in the studio.”
  • “I really enjoy watching you, BUT: Why do you have to train the Steppenfuchs live in the studio for 5 minutes…?? A single player would certainly have been enough!

Environmentalists speak clearly

The fox is accompanied by species defender Markus Köchling, who will be happy to provide him with general information. And as if Kai Pflaume had suspected or even heard the viewers’ concerns, he asked himself the question again. “Should we be worried about the steppe fox? »

The ecologist immediately gives the green light: “She is super curious, she feels perfectly at ease here and is also used to people. “That’s why it’s not stressful for them,” explains the expert. And Pflaume adds: “We also ensure that the conditions are such that the animals are not stressed. »

Later, a guest animal enters the stage again: a Malayan owl. At this point, the “Who knows something like that?” » The moderator once again emphasizes to the audience that loud applause should be avoided so as not to “scare Pützchen”. Instead of clapping, the studio audience waved goodbye to the weirdo. After five minutes at the latest, the performances are over and the animals disappear behind the stage.
