January 2024: farmers express their anger in convoy in Provins
In the wake of the national agricultural protest movement which blocked France at the start of 2024, farmers in the Provins region took to the streets on January 25.
Nearly 60 tractors converged in a procession towards the upper town roundabout, from the medieval city, Donnemarie-Dontilly, Villiers-Saint-Georges, Bray-sur-Seine and Nangis.
“We want to mark the occasion to show that we have reached a point of no return in terms of constraints, standards and unfair competition,” they explained.
A year later, their movement is about to resume. New blockages are announced January 5, 2025.

In April 2024, actor Tomer Sisley was in Provins to shoot an episode of the series Our history of Francebroadcast on October 15 on France 2.

November 2024: the mysterious fatal explosion of a house plunges the town of Saint-Loup-de-Naud into incomprehension
In the calm of the early morning, the explosionwas heard in several surrounding villages. THE November 27, 2024 around 4 a.m., an explosion blew out a house located on rue Serge-Veau, in Saint-Loup-de-Naud, near Provins.
The tragedy, which required the intervention ofaround twenty firefighters (specialists in rescueet clearingdog teams, deminers …) cost the life of the owner of the premises, a 31-year-old woman, and seriously injured her partner.
A month later, the vagueness remainsconcerning the causes of the explosion and the possible presence of traces of explosive material .
And multiple tracks were probed by investigators, such as that of the former owner of the house, who died in 2017 in the unexplained explosion of his car, or that of the former neighbors of the destroyed pavilion, the mystery remains whole.
