Bernard Pivot died this Monday, May 6, in Neuilly-sur-Seine. He celebrated his 89th birthday on Sunday May 5. Journalist and writer, Bernard Pivot made himself known thanks to his television show “Apostrophes”, broadcast from 1975 to 1990. He was the one who very probably encouraged many French people to buy and read.
He also hosted the show ''Bouillon de culture'' in 1985 and organized the famous ''Dictée de Pivot''. He chaired the Goncourt academy from 2014 to 2019.

Pierre Vernier, actor, died at 93 in Vic-Fezensac, was in the 1960s the familiar hero of Swiss rolla very popular series.
He was a student at the National Higher Conservatory of Dramatic Art with, around 1954, a whole extraordinary conjunction of cinema stars, the Conservatory Band (Belmondo, Girardot, Marielle, Fabian, Bedos, Rochefort, Rich, Noiret…).
Then, we will find him with the best directors of the time (Verneuil, Lelouch, Delvaux, Losey,…). But also in the theater with Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean-Pierre Marielle, two friends.
