The match between Juventus Turin and Fiorentina, counting for the 18e day of Serie A, was briefly interrupted this Sunday, December 29, after racist insults came from the stands targeting Serbian Juve striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Seven minutes off

Referee Maurizio Mariani stopped the match after seven minutes of play and called the two captains to tell them that the match was interrupted, while a message calling on spectators to stop their racist and discriminatory chants was broadcast in the stands of the Allianz Stadium.

The two teams then met in the central circle, then the match resumed after an interruption of a few minutes. Depending on the platform DAZNFiorentina supporters uttered insults towards Vlahovic, already targeted by “Viola” ultras last season.

In November 2023, Fiorentina was sanctioned with the closure of a stand in its stadium for a suspended match due to racist chants targeting three Juventus players, including Vlahovic. Since leaving Fiorentina, his club from 2018 to 2022, Vlahovic, 24, has been targeted by Tuscan supporters who do not forgive him for joining Juve.
