The Lina affair has experienced many twists and turns since the beginning of the investigation. After the disappearance of the young girl on September 23, 2023, his body was finally foundmore than a year later. Indeed, it was located on October 16, 2024, in the Nevers region.
While Samuel G., the main suspect, committed suicide, the mystery remained as to the causes of Lina’s death. If his body was in a state of advanced decompositionhe was autopsied before being buried. After long weeks of waiting, the autopsy results were finally released.
Lina would have been killed in a particularly violent manner
On Thursday, December 19, Alexandre Chevrier, the interim public prosecutor of Strasbourg, gave a press conference. He thus revealed that Lina would have succumbed to mechanical strangulation. The teenager would be strangled to death “using the handles” from a bag of “type tote bag”.
Fragments of fabric as well as marks found at the level of his neck would make this hypothesis likely. According to the prosecutor, a “very recognizable horizontal furrow” would have been noted under his chin. Of the “linear cracks” would also be present on his jaw. Lina’s death would therefore be the result of a premeditated act of great violence.
The results of other analyzes are still awaited
Thanks to forensic analyses, death by strangulation was favored by the investigators. On the other hand, that of a drowning was dismissed while Lina’s body was found “partly submerged” in a stream. According to the prosecutor, no other form of violence, in particular sexual naturecould not be demonstrated.
Despite these initial results, the investigation is still ongoing. THE results of other analyzes are still awaited but many questions could remain unanswered. With the suicide of the main suspect, it is for example unlikely to one day know how he managed to get Lina into his car or the reasons for his action.
