Heather Nash is a dynamic young woman who holds a position of responsibility in the administration offices of a shopping center managed by Arlène Simons. Single, she is very surrounded by her family and she is close to her sister, Courtney, and her niece, Molly, whom she often babysits. Arlène brings her teams together to reorient the center's economic strategy. The competition is tough. Another establishment has just opened and it attracts customers with its innovative activities. Arlène suggests terminating the leases of stores whose turnover is 15% lower than the turnover of the previous year. Heather, who is in charge of rentals, finds the sanction harsh, but she applies the decision because she hopes for a promotion within the group. She sends a lease termination letter to the store “Patty's Toys”, without knowing that its manager is none other than Patty, the aunt of Ryan, a young bohemian man whom she has just met and who is under her spell. A former lawyer, Ryan is a painter. In addition to helping his aunt in her store, he agrees to replace his friend, Andy, as the mall's Santa Claus.
