A busy Christmas return for some NHL teams, including the Nashville Predators and Colorado Avalanche. The two teams in the Central division announced a few minutes ago that they had made a deal.
THE Pres therefore send striker Juuso Pärssinen to Avs as well as a 7th pick in 2026 and receive in return attacker Ondřej Pavel accompanied by a 3rd round pick in 2027.
These two organizations are not at their first discussion this season. On November 30, Barry Trotz and Joe Sakic exchanged their respective goaltenders. The Colorado organization received Scott Wedgewood while Justus Annunen headed to Nashville.
Reactions among supporters of Pres are mixed. Some fans do not understand Trotz’s way of managing his team. However, at the start of the campaign, the acquisitions made by the new general manager led to believe that Nashville was going to be a team in the playoff race. Other fans see it as positive, mentioning that Pavel will be a good player to bring stability to the third line. The Tennessee team is currently in penultimate place in the Central, just ahead of the Chicago Blackhawks, with a total of 29 points.
As for the Avalanche, the team is riding a nice four-game winning streak. Moreover, elite forward Nathan MacKinnon crossed 60 points last night in a 4-1 victory against the Utah Hockey Club. In 37 parts, Nate the Great scored 14 goals and had 46 assists. According to projections, if he stays healthy for the remainder of the campaign, he could surpass 130 points.
A minor transaction, but one which, you never know, could lead to another more important one.
