“I danced a bit like everyone else”
A very beautiful sequence.
Kaaris, born January 30, 1980 in Cocody, Ivory Coast, grew up in Sevran, Seine-Saint-Denis, where he took his first steps in the world of rap.
Recently, an archive video dating from 1994 resurfaced, showing a 14-year-old dancing in the Roseraie district of Sevran. We can recognize Kaaris and his already characteristic laugh.
The young man did dancing, but also freestyles, because rap was already very present in his life. He himself admitted that he had focused on all aspects of hip-hop in general: “I danced a bit like everyone else in the halls. Afterwards, I went to Châtelet, that’s where I met the guys who were doing freestyles and where I started rapping.”
Kaaris’ journey in the world of rap really took off in 2011, when he was spotted by Booba, who invited him to participate in his mixtape “Autopsy 4″. This collaboration was a real springboard for his career, which Kaaris himself describes as a detonator. And 2013, Kaaris a sorti “Black Gold”which is today considered a classic of French rap.
