Work is progressing quickly inside and around the enclosure. The first giant cables and metal plates arrived last week, marking a key step in preparations. These materials will allow ground fixing operations to begin, a prelude to the final installation of the new stadium roof.

Designed to cover all of the stadium’s seats, the roof will provide a total capacity of approximately 74,000 seats. With a surface area of more than 20,000 square meters, it will become one of the largest roofs on the African continent.

The roof will require more than 1,000 tonnes of steel cables, delivered gradually from Germany. Each cable, measuring 278 meters long. In total, this project will use nearly 33,000 tonnes of steel. With a maximum diameter of 125 mm, these cables have an internal resistance exceeding 40,000 tonnes.

As part of preparations for the CAN, developments are also planned in the Ziaten sports city. They include the creation of green spaces, areas dedicated to the public, a two-level car park and other sports facilities. These improvements will give the Grand Stade de Tangier a unique charm, placing it among the most beautiful stadiums in the world.
