On December 5, Nir Hasson, daily journalist Haaretzpublished a long investigation into the work of a historian from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Lee Mordechai, who documents war crimes committed by the Israeli army in Gaza. The first paragraph relates an extract from a video of a soldier in the Gaza Strip who is delighted that a dog is eating the remains of a corpse: “He took the terrorist, the terrorist left – in both senses of the word. » Then, the soldier raises the camera and films a sunset over the enclave. This is just one of the scenes in a report whose latest English version is 124 pages long.

On December 18, the newspaper founded in 1918, thirty years before the creation of the Jewish state, focused on the extrajudicial executions committed by Israeli soldiers in the Netzarim corridor. This line, held by the army, cuts Gaza into two parts, separating the south from the enclave, where most of the Palestinians in the territory have failed trying to escape Israeli bombings, from the north, which continues to suffer the heaviest strikes since the massacre carried out by Hamas on October 7, 2023. Over the months, the corridor has become a no man's land 7 kilometers wide – a vast influence in a territory 40 kilometers long.
