L’association Anim’Vergonnescreated in 2018 in Ombrée d’Anjou (Maine-et-Loire), aims toliven up the community by creating social ties between residents. Particularly with the traditional soap box race.
Maine-et-Loire: we know the date of the next soap box races
In 2023, for first edition, 2,500 to 3,000 people attended a great event: soap box races, in the small town of Vergonnespopulated by 300 inhabitants.
70 volunteers had then participated in the organization of the refreshment bar, the on-site catering… 34 participants were also at the start.
50 participants for this second edition
This year, the races will take place on Sunday June 1, 2025. The limit number of people participating is 50.
A jury will select aesthetics, choice of soapbox theme, originality and choreography.
To participate, you must have at least 14 years old within the year, compulsory equipment, motorcycle helmet and parental authorization.
The race will take place on a slight slope 600 meters longwith a slope decline of 6%. Four descents will be organized in the town with a quad ride. The start of the races is planned at 11 a.m. Inflatable structures are provided for children. A call for volunteers has already been launched for this day of activities.
Furthermore, the Anim'Vergonnes association also organizes a themed evening every month. A night hike is also planned for Saturday March 8.
