Algeria
– The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to postpone the match between Al Hilal of Sudan and Mouloudia of Algiers (MCA) until January 5. Initially planned for Benghazi, in Libya, the meeting will finally be relocated to Nouakchott, in Mauritania. This decision comes following objections raised by the company holding the broadcasting rights, which opposed the choice of Benghazi as the venue for the match.

The postponement was confirmed by CAF in an official press release, specifying that the modification of the time and location aims to guarantee compliance with broadcasting and security standards. The federation thus wishes to avoid any disagreement with media partners, a key element for the visibility of African competitions.

Faced with this situation, the management of Mouloudia d’Algiers decided to meet with the team’s coach, Khaled Ben Yahia, in order to adjust the preparation program and determine the new departure date for Nouakchott. This meeting aims to best adapt the logistics and physical condition of the players to face the challenges imposed by this change.

The postponement, however, raises questions among supporters, in particular because of the short deadlines and the potential impact on the performance of the teams. On the side of the technical management of the MCA, we prefer to remain focused on mental and tactical preparation, despite the unforeseen events linked to travel.

Mouloudia of Algiers, which represents Algeria in this continental competition, hopes to take advantage of this additional time to refine its strategies and consolidate its qualification ambitions. This postponement also offers an opportunity for players to better prepare against a formidable opponent like Al Hilal.

This situation once again reflects the organizational challenges that CAF faces in the management of African competitions, where logistical, security and media constraints directly influence the progress of the matches. For MCA supporters, the priority remains unconditional support for their team, whatever the circumstances.
