Olivier Renard hoped to make a good first move on the transfer market with the arrival of César Huerta. But things seem to be getting a little complicated.

Recently, we spoke to you about the potential arrival, and even considered probable by both the Belgian and Mexican press, of Cesar Huerta (24 years old) at RSC Anderlecht. A first big blow for Olivier Renard because Huerta was very close to joining Liverpool last summer.

The reason why the deal was feasible is because Carlos Huerta is coming to the end of his contract next June with Tigres UNAM, the club where he plays in Liga MX. This winter transfer window would therefore be the last chance for the Mexican club to fill the coffers with its international (15 caps, 3 goals).

But now things seem a little less obvious. Indeed, according to information fromESPNthe Tigres and Huerta are said to be in negotiations regarding a possible contract extension, which would therefore close the door to Anderlecht and even to a transfer this winter.

The objective for the Tigers is of course to be able to sell Cesar Huerta much more expensive next summer, while this winter, a departure would only be looming around 2-3 million. Other teams, including in Mexico, also remain in ambush.

Olivier Renard hoped to be able to strengthen the left winger position with Huerta to anticipate both the end of Samuel Edozie’s loan and a possible departure of Francis Amuzu next summer. However, a transfer to this position is not necessarily a short-term necessity.
