Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs continued their visit to New York with a stop at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn to challenge the Nets. Unlike the Christmas game against the Knicks, the Texans managed to bring home the victory 96-87.
We tell you right away: this Nets – Spurs was clearly not the match of the year. Brooklyn was without Ben Simmons, Cam Johnson and Cam Thomas. Wemby and his friends must certainly have taken this match lightly and they were surprised in the first half.
A laborious start to the match from San Antonio where Mitch Johnson's men had only scored eight points before Keldon Johnson scored at the buzzer to allow the Spurs to pass the 10-point mark.

The second act is not much better with the image of Victor Wembanyama not in his legs.
The half-time score? 41 everywhere. If you follow the modern NBA at all, you know very well that such a low score very rarely symbolizes a match of excellent quality.
Returning from the locker room, the match gets a little carried away thanks to Wemby. The Alien plants three consecutive shots from the Empire State Building and we think that the match is getting a little interesting. In the wake of the Frenchman, the Spurs manage to take a ten point lead.

Except that our joy was short-lived.
While Victor Wembanyama was (finally) starting to get the hot hand, the Frenchman suffered a blow in the nose from Jalen Wilson and returned to the locker room.
Without its best player, we think that San Antonio will let the Nets come back, but Brooklyn cannot catch up. When Wemby takes his place on the field, this observation does not change.
Without strength, the Spurs won 96-87 and Victor Wembanyama finished the game with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 blocks. If we are far from the offensive orgy of last Wednesday, the main thing is assured with a victory.
With a record of 16 wins for 15 losses, San Antonio continues its race for the Play-In in the very tough Wild Wild West.
