Fans who were hoping to see Teoscar Hernandez again with the Toronto Blue Jays will have to be patient since the star player announced Friday that he was staying in Los Angeles.
The 32-year-old Dominican went there with a very simple message on Instagram, writing “I’m back” with a blue heart. ESPN reporter Jeff Passan later confirmed that the outfielder had agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension with the Dodgers.

Hernandez will receive $66 million over the life of the deal. An option of an additional campaign at a salary of $15 million is also included in the pact. The Dodgers will pay the player $23 million on a deferred basis.
Last season, his first with the defending World Series champions, he had a .272 batting average and hit 33 home runs. In July, he won the home run contest in the All-Star Game.
From 2017 to 2022, Hernandez suited up for the Blue Jays, becoming a crowd favorite. He also became a friend and mentor to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the Queen City.
