Many traders are working hard to decorate their window approaching Noël. Christmas trees, garlands, lights, goodies… Everything is good for amaze customers before they even walk through the doors.

For three years, the national Petitscommerces platform, which supports independent local businesses, has organized the competition for the most beautiful Christmas window in France. This year, the second-hand products and services platform, Leboncoin, as well as the international leader in the B2B marketplace, FAIRE, were partners of the event.

A Dole business among the candidates

For this 2024 edition, more than 1,000 applications were received across the country, including more than 40 in Burgundy-Franche-Comté. Among them, five were selected for the regional final. The city of Dole was represented with one of its emblematic businesses in the city center, The Cheese Boysand its managers Clement Gavand et Jonathan Dohant.

It was the first time that the couple participated in this competition. “We were subscribed to the platform’s newsletter and we came across this competition. We said to ourselves ‘why not?'”, Clément tells Voice of Jura.

An eco-responsible showcase

Three criteria were taken into account to be one of the five regional finalists: history and originality from the window; eco-responsible design of it; and their ability to communicate locally.

Clément, Jonathan and their team took a week to decorate their window. The manager presents it: “We chose LEDs for the lights in order to consume lessour garlands are in natural firwe used mainly wooden objects and avoided plastic as much as possible. »

Second in the region

These efforts have been congratulated by their customers, and not only that! “Customers love it, we have nice comments. Sometimes, there are even passers-by who stop in front of it and say that it’s pretty,” says Clément.

Internet users were then asked to vote for the most beautiful showcase in their region, the one that could claim the titre national. Despite the 400 votes in its favor, the Doloise cheese factory did not reach the first step of the podium… But the second !

“We are still very happy to be the second most beautiful showcase in the region and we will do the competition again next year! »

Third in our Jura of the year competition

This is not Clément’s only title this month. Readers of Voice of Jura also classified it third of our competition Lth Jura of the year. A place of which he is very proud: “I never visibly win, I am always an outsider [rires]. More seriously, I am very happy and honoredthen another bronze medal, that suits me! » Indeed, this former opera singer had obtained third place in the Lyre d’Or competition, the most beautiful cheese platter in France, at the agricultural show.
