Gestion MMF, a used vehicle business, was engulfed in flames on December 27 very early in the morning. La Prairie firefighters brought the fire under control, but the business is “pretty much a total loss,” informs Mario Martin, interim director of the La Prairie Fire Department.
“There was also a trailer next door which was affected by the fire, but it did not have too much damage,” he adds.

They brought the fire under control with the help of firefighters from the Alliance des Grandes-Seigneuries fire department and the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu fire safety service.
A total of 25 firefighters battled the flames; an operation which lasted a little over two hours, explains Mr. Martin.
There were no injuries.
The cause remains undetermined.
“The scene was handed over to police officers from the Roussillon Intermunicipal Police Authority and an investigation is underway,” concludes Mario Martin.
