A drama that could have become a human drama on Christmas Eve. But in this terrible story, a little boy truly became a hero, in the small town of Douville in Dordogne.
During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, around 2 a.m., the 8-year-old child was woken up by a noise. Unfortunately, it is not the sound of Santa’s footsteps but the crackling of flames that are ravaging the house stove.
“A very effective reaction”
As reported by the RMC website, the boy then quickly warned his parents of the fire inside the house. The father finally manages to evacuate the whole family to take refuge outside.
“The little boy was woken up by a noise. When he woke up, he found that the stove was on fire. He had a very effective reaction“, relates the first deputy of the commune, neighbor of the family, on the microphone of our colleagues. The latter found the whole family, poorly covered in the middle of the night in freezing temperatures, while the house was devoured by the flames.”The little one, aged 8, did not speak, he was mute“, adds Évelyne Moulinier.
A surge of solidarity
An investigation was opened to determine the origin of the fire. The family was quickly relocated to the house of the grandmother of a local elected official. The home was unoccupied.
Solidarity was quickly established in this small town. “We are very touched for the family. We are trying to put things in place. They have nothing left, we want to help this beautiful family“, testifies a neighbor to France Bleu.
A clothing drive and a call for donations have been launched. The house was completely destroyed in this fire.
