The Seahawks have playoff dreams, but the 27-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings dashed their hopes last week. Currently, they find themselves outside of the playoff picture, behind the LA Rams in the NFC West.
Geno Smith had an impressive performance with 314 yards and 3 touchdowns, but he also threw 2 interceptions. To make matters worse, star running back Kenneth Walker III is out with an ankle injury. With just 31 yards rushing last week, the Seahawks’ ground game looked as desolate as Chicago deep-dish pizza on the West Coast.
The Seahawks’ playoff hopes are extremely fragile, and this win is crucial for them, as is a good coffee for Geno before game day.
On the Bears side, the situation is also worrying. Their 34-17 loss to the Detroit Lions marked their ninth straight loss, leaving Chicago fans wondering if it’s time to go into hibernation mode until next season.
However, QB Caleb Williams has proven to be a beacon of hope amid this dark season. His performance of 334 yards and 2 touchdowns last week was remarkable, even if the majority of the yards came during the final minutes of the game. Williams has accumulated a total of 3,271 passing yards this season, ranking sixth in Bears history.
Williams has a chance to break the franchise single-season record of 3,838 passing yards, set in 1995 by Erik Kramer. As a rookie, he has nothing to lose and a lot to prove this Thursday night.
