The best albums of 2024 according to the editorial staff of RockOn.it – Rockon.it

This year the RockOn editorial team has done a lot overtime just to keep you updated on concerts, festivals, new records, reunions, whatever of all our and your favorite bands and all the artists of our and your heart.

From the heat of indie festivals to the mud and pouring rain of large gatherings (and colds, flights at dawn, articles written on the sidewalks, shoes to throw away)until the sleepless nights spent listening to records waiting to write about them, share them, debate among ourselves and with you, this year too our editorial team has not spared itself in the name of music and RockOn readers.

2024 has been a true musical twister, difficult to pigeonhole and impossible to ignore: legends like Stephen Malkmus, Kim Gordon, Swim surf, are back with new music not to mention the Curewho, perhaps inspired by the red-hot political climate, decided it was the right time to remind us why they are a timeless icon.

2024 has been an unpredictable, chaotic, exciting and extraordinary year. These albums tell it better than any words, making each listen a window into 12 captivating months we won't soon forget.

This was the year rock got petted with AI, punk put on Nonna Pina's vintage dress, and pop decided that being strange it was cool. Here is our selection of 5 records that made us jump, dance, argue, dream, cry.

We won't spoil everything here. Get ready to discover who made us horny and made us cry, who amazed us and made us dream, who forced us to make continuous reevaluations, who pissed us off, who made us fly… our ranking includes a lot and more pop, rock, indie, folk, metal, extreme metal, funk, psych, indie, noise and many more in between.

Trust me, it's worth it. You won't just find records, but a piece of us, if you're interested in knowing who we are.

Because listening to music is easy, but telling it with passion is another story.
