Tuesday 24 December 2024will be broadcast in prime time on Rai 3at hours 21:20the animated film of 2021 from the title Luca. The film is co-produced by Walt Disney Pictures e Pixar Animation Studios and is directed by the director of Italian origins Enrico Casarosamaking his debut as a film maker and who had previously worked for Pixar as a storyboard artist in Cars – Roaring engines, Ratatouille e Up.
The original dubbing of the protagonist was edited by Jacob Tremblaya young Canadian actor who became internationally famous for his performance in Wonder (2017).
As regards, however, the dubbing in Italian, Luca's voice is that of the young man Alberto Vannini. In the Italian dubbing cast, we also find several much-loved names from our country, such as: Sara Ciocca, Luca Argentero, Marina Massironi, Orietta Berti, Luciana Littizzetto e Fabio Fazio.
The plot of the film: a metaphor about accepting diversity
Luca tells the story of a young boy who lives in a small town on the Ligurian Riviera. Luca, in the company of his greatest friend Albertospend their days enjoying the beauty and carefreeness of summer, between delicious ice creams and fun Vespa rides. In reality, what seem like two ordinary children hide a shocking secret: Luca and Alberto are two sea monsters.
Luca, in fact, is a very shy and insecure child, who has always respected the rule imposed by his family do not go to the surface. However, when she meets Alberto, a rebellious and adventurous young man, she lets herself be carried away by his enthusiasm and finds the courage to reach land and find out as much as possible about humans.
When dry, the two boys look like any other child, and this will allow them to browse the streets of the town without any difficulty. Thanks to this experience, Luca will understand that all those dangers that he had imagined for his entire life did not actually exist and he savors this new freedom…the only important thing to do is never get wet, or his true identity will be discovered. Things, however, will not go as planned and Luca will find himself having to overcome numerous challenges before learning how to accept his true nature and make sure that even the villagers are not afraid of him.
