Sonic the Hedgehog 3 debuted in cinemas last weekend, receiving an excellent reception and generating enthusiasm among fans. Between the announcement of a fourth film on the way e one intriguing post-creditswe find out how a fan-favorite was going to be included in the film trilogy: Big the Cat
According to the writers of the trilogy, Pat Casey e Josh Miller, Big the Cat was supposed to make a brief appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog 2but the scene was cut. In an interview, Casey revealed that the character he was supposed to appear as a skeleton in the snowy mountains, paying homage to the classic Indiana Jones-style scary sequences. However, the scene was eliminated because it was deemed to make little sense in the context of the film.
The screenwriter then clarified: “we would have done it with a UN skeleton Big the Cat…not necessarily THAT Big the Cat“.
Despite the absence of Big the Catthe two screenwriters also joked about their desire to introduce Rouge the Bat in the movies, an idea that still hasn't come to fruition after three attempts.
