The secretary of sports betting of the Brazilian Ministry of Sports, Neto, takes stock of the effects of the gaming regulation in force from 2025.

“The impact is positive. This regulation should have been approved a long time ago. The concrete results can only be evaluated from January onwards, when the regulation comes into force.
But the mere fact that the Brazilian state is addressing this problem is already very important.”

Word of the national secretary of sports betting of the Ministry of Sports of Brazil, Giovanni Rocco Netowho in an interview with the Yogonet newspaper positively evaluates the impact of the regulation implemented in 2024 on the gaming and betting sector in the country.

The Ministry's objective “is to combat match-fixing. This can only be done in a regulated market. Without regulation, it is not possible to gather evidence to investigate and counter match fixing.'

Equally fundamental is the collection of taxes on sports bettingone of the pillars of regulation. “But it is not yet possible to estimate the numbers”, points out the secretary. “We will not have precise information until next year. When this happens, the revenue will enter the ministry's budget and will be applied to the budget planning of the Ministry of Sports.”
