Inter loses Nicolò Barella. The Nerazzurri midfielder, who came off in the 72nd minute of Monday’s match against Lazio due to a slight contracture in the adductor of his right thigh, underwent tests this morning which highlighted a slight elongation of the adductor longus of his right thigh. “His situation will be assessed day by day,” the club said in a statement. Barella will therefore miss the match against Udinese in the Italian Cup and the match on Monday in the championship against Como, with the aim of returning for the match away to Cagliari on 28 December or at the latest for the semi-final of the Italian Super Cup against Atalanta on 2 January in Saudi Arabia.
THE EVE OF UDINESE
We will be in difficulty especially in midfield, Zarraga, Payero and Lovric will be missing. It’s a challenge but I will field the best team possible. There will be rotations, we have different choices, but it is not certain that there will be rotations in all departments. There is still time to decide”. Kosta Runjaic said this when meeting journalists on the eve of his Udinese’s Italian Cup match in Milan against Inter. “We will not radically change the formation – he specified -, not it’s the approach we want to work with. However, it will be an opportunity to see better players we have seen less so far. The defense will be three-man.” “Sanchez? Tomorrow is his birthday – concluded the coach -. On paper he may even start from the beginning, but I still have to decide.” The Chilean will celebrate 36 years in the very stadium where last season he won his 20th scudetto with Inter, that of the second star. On Udinese’s season , the coach recalled that “the path is difficult, but by having faith in the process and working, the results will come. We know we will encounter difficulties but we must continue to work.”
