The moment has come, finally: Warner Bros. has published the first official Superman trailer in Italian and James Gunn’s creature was revealed to the public in a sort of Christmas gift that aims to fuel expectations in view of the release in theaters, set for 10 July 2025.
The film scores a clear and evident change of tone compared to the Man of Steel of the Snyderverse, starting naturally from the costume worn by the protagonist, which draws convincingly from the comics tradition (see the “underpants”, the belt, the symbol also on the cloak) but also adopting the logo seen in the Kingdom Come saga.
Gunn’s intention was to tell what it means to be Superman in a world like today’s, and for this reason the hero appears more than once in great difficulty in the trailer, but at the same time they make their debut several supporting actors.
This is a team effort
James Gunn had already revealed the presence of the dog Krypto in his Superman film some time ago, and indeed Kal-El’s four-legged super friend he is the absolute protagonist of the first sequences of the trailer, when he comes to the aid of his master to bring him home.
However, this is not the only guest star in a film that immediately appears to have an unusual “choral” spirit: we naturally see it in action Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor which is very Agent 47 with that gun in hand, the blonde bob of Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl and many other characters.
