In 2025 there will be a new companion alongside Max Verstappen. The Mexican pays for a disastrous 2024 season. He will be replaced by 22-year-old Liam Lawson, promoted from satellite team Racing Bulls

The second driver of the Red Bull team in 2025 will not be Sergio Perez. The Mexican, after 4 seasons, was dropped by the team based in Milton Keynes, paying for a truly disappointing and in large parts disastrous 2024 season.

Red Bull in the Constructors’ World Championship, which then finished in third place behind McLaren, world champion and Ferrari, was able to count on only one driver, Max Verstappen who went on to take his fourth consecutive world title.

This year Perez achieved only 4 podiums in the first 5 races when Red Bull was still the reference car. He never won and finished the World Championship in a dull eighth position.

In his 4 years with Red Bull, the Mexican driver achieved 5 victories, all on city tracks. He triumphed in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, in Baku, in 2021, in Monaco, in 2022, in Singapore, in 2022, in Jeddah, in 2023 and again in Baku in 2023 and, in the 90 races held, he climbed the podium.

For next season, Red Bull has decided to rely on 22-year-old Liam Lawson, promoted from the satellite team Racing Bulls after 11 races and two ninth places as his best result.
