– A retiree hits the jackpot: 20,000 euros per month for 30 years
20,000 euros per month for thirty years. The jackpot is a dream. For a retiree from Somain (North), reality has caught up with fiction. This EuroDreams game regular had the pleasant surprise of win the jackpot of 7.2 million euros in total, reports France Bleu. After checking the numbers, the winner went to his tobacconist on November 21 to declare his winnings to the FDJ. Even with its jackpot, he continues to come and play the same game regularly. In Somain, attendance at the tobacconist has increased since the announcement of the lucky winner. In 2018, a player won the My Million draw.
EuroDreams is the first European annuity game. To set it up, the FDJ joined forces with eight other European lotteries from the Euromillions community. For this game offered at a price of 2.50 euros, players must check six correct numbers out of forty, as well as one additional number out of five, called Dream. The winner therefore wins in several installments the sum of 7.2 million euros, or 20,000 euros per month for thirty years. Other combinations also allow you to win. If six winning numbers are drawn but without the Dream number, the winner still wins a pension of 2,000 euros per month for five years. That’s a gain of 120,000 euros.
EuroDreams: the first two winners of the game are French, and this is no coincidence
One in 19 million chance of winning the maximum prize
In the event that the player has several winning grids, with the validated Dream number, there too, the amount won will be paid to him every month up to the limit of three winning grids, i.e. 60,000 euros per month maximum. If the player has more than three winning grids, the total amount will be paid to him in one go up to 21.6 million euros. “This new game offers a one in 19 million chance of winning the maximum prize and, more generally, a one in 4.66 chance of winning a prize”indicates the FDJ.
Each drawing evening, players can validate their grid until 8:15 p.m. before the drawing begins around 9 p.m. and then online around 10 p.m. Two draws take place each week, on Monday and Thursday.
