Act in all areas to help minor victims of violence. This is the objective of the Regional Pediatric Referral Team for Children in Danger (EPRRED) which has just been set up in Corsica-du-Sud, supported by the Association of Investigation and Mediation (AEM). “In Corsica, we have a specificity”, explains Anthony Peleman, general director of the AEM. “EPRRED is an associative sharing, whereas on the continent, the teams are managed by the hospital world.” On the island, psychologists, specialized educators, lawyers and pediatricians are mobilized to fight against violence against children. “We have a multidisciplinary regional team, and we work in collaboration with the Pediatric Reception Units for Children in Danger (UAPED) to take care of minors who need it.”
Concretely, EPRRED “provides comprehensive care including medical, psychological and social monitoring.” They propose, “for minors who require it, coordination of the care pathway, with if necessary care and monitoring over time of the minor, relaying in particular to the UAPEDs”. Another mission of the EPRRED of Corsica-du-Sud will be, in partnership with the Child Protection Observatory, “to obtain figures on the neglect and abuse recorded”. “This is one of the important subjects”specifies Anthony Peleman.
