“They have talented gymnasts including a junior European champion and an expert on beam,” declared Patrick Andréani, coach of the Meaux gymnasts (Seine-et-Marne), before their confrontation against Brumath (Bas-Rhin) on Saturday December 14, 2024, as part of the Top 12.

The Meldoises made the trip and was able to leave with victory26 to 22, despite a first half

. It all came down to duels on beam and floor.

A duel at the top

In group four (made up of Meaux, Brumath and Combs-la-Ville, Editor’s note), Brumath was able to make a good entry into the competitionbeating Combs-la-Ville 18 to 30, on November 30, 2024.

Facing Meaux during the weekend of December 14, 2024, the Brumathoise team, as in their previous match, took the advantage from the first half.

During the first apparatus, the vault, Brumath won the first two duels out of the threefor a total of 7 to 5.

At the helm, the Meldoises manage to get their heads above water, in particular thanks to Astria Nelo, with a score of 12,133 against 9,833 against her opponent of the day: Noa Riemer. At the break, tie for the two teams: 12-12.

The goal: the semi-final

Coming back from the break, Patrick Andréani knew remotivate your troops. “I told the girls that nothing had been done yet. But now, we had to take points from the restart,” demanded the coach.

He knew how to make himself heard since his protégés knew how to steal two out of three duels in one of Brumath’s favorite apparatus: the beam.

During the last event, floor, Lucie Henna and Irène Lanza hit the nail on the head with two notes above 12which allowed Meaux to win this match 22-26.

“In this match, eight gymnasts were able to duel, including young people from the club. This victory reinforces our training objective, welcomes the Meldois coach, we are well into the competition. We will welcome Combs-la-Ville with great respect, in order to win the match and be able to go to the semi-final,” hopes Patrick Andréani, who prepare now for the meetingscheduled for Meaux on February 22, 2025.
