We came close to tragedy last week in Cayenne, when a fire broke out in spontaneous homes. A sixty-year-old was saved by firefighters.
Engaged in a spontaneous house fire on rue Henri Collat in Cayenne during the night of Wednesday to Thursday, December 12, 2024, firefighters from Cayenne and Rémire extinguished a widespread fire impacting a group of three homes spontaneous, non-insulated buildings with a total surface area of approximately 300 m².
On their arrival, firefighters took care of a 69-year-old victim suffering from smoke poisoning, evacuated to the Cayenne Hospital Center, and extinguished the fire using 4 fire hoses.
In total, 9 fire and rescue vehicles were involved in the intervention, as well as 27 firefighters.
A firefighter was slightly injured, electrified by an informal connection. 5 adjoining homes protected by the action of the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service.
