The fifteen-year-old teenager, arrested this Sunday, is still in police custody at the police station. According to his initial statements, he explained that he had agreed to a meeting with her on Friday evening with the aim of stealing her cell phone.

The public prosecutor, Emilie Abrantès, clarified to our colleagues from France Bleu that it was not, at this stage of the investigations, “no question of rape at all”.

Friday, December 13 in the evening, Inès’ family reported her disappearance on social networks with her photo.

Calls for witnesses increased rapidly, and during the night from Saturday to Sunday, the lifeless body of the teenager was found in a wooded area in the town of Isle.

Initial investigations show that the young girl agreed to a date with a boy her age, via the social network Snapchat.

The suspect was quickly identified and arrested on Sunday.

According to our information, the boy pretended to have a romantic date with the young girl in order to steal her cell phone. A story which remains to be confirmed by investigators.

Inès attended year 3 at the Maryse Bastié vocational high school in Limoges, where a psychological unit was to be set up. Neither the establishment nor the rectorate have made any comments on this tragedy.

A prize pool has been put online and has already collected nearly 6,000 euros.

The Public Prosecutor is due to give a press conference at the end of the afternoon.
