A professor of the versatile high school Jean-Victor Poncelet in Saint-Avold in Moselle filed a complaint against a pupil parent, for a threat of crime on a teacher. The father of the high school student was placed in police custody this Wednesday, December 11, 2024, confirms the public prosecutor of Sarreguemines. The student's parent also filed a complaint against the teacher, for harassment against his son.
“After having resumed a student because of his behavior and his lack of work in class, a professor was threatened by the father of this student”indicates to the France Press Agency (AFP) the Rectorate of Nancy-Metz.
“The student concerned encounters relationship difficulties with his teachers, and shows an inadequate behavior in progress. His father did not accept the admonitions addressed to his child and surreated, which led to threatening remarks to the teacher's contrary “continues the rectorate.
The rectorate specifies that threats “have been uttered in circumstances not under a problem of secularism”. This is also confirmed by the public prosecutor of Sarreguemines.

According to a police source cited by AFP, the student's father first challenged the teacher's legitimacy in an email addressed to the management of the establishment. Then, according to a main education advisor of the school, the father said: “I'm going to grab him and break my head. With teachers like that, you shouldn't be surprised that there are Samuel Paty!”.
The teacher targeted by these threats benefits from support and applied for functional protection, the rectorate said.
These facts intervene when the trial of the assassination of Samuel Paty is held. This professor of history-geography in a high school in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine in the Yvelines, had been killed in October 2020 by a radicalized young man, after having shown caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad to his students.
