After a few days spent in the Persian Gulf, change of direction for Tim Cook who is now in London, as we can see on his X account! Although the atmosphere seemed more relaxed, the CEO still slipped in some information between two photos.

40 years of presence and 18 billion!

Indeed, the Apple boss emphasized the company’s commitment to the United Kingdomhighlighting a cumulative investment of $18 billion and local initiatives that demonstrate Apple’s continued growth in the country. The headquarters of Battersea (with the animation of Wallace and Gromit) in the old power station, plays a central role in this expansion.

Indeed, Apple celebrates more than 40 years of presence in the United Kingdom, an anniversary which deserved to communicate some figures. Overall, UK developers have generated almost 9 billion dollars revenue thanks to the App Store since its launch in 2008. Local production of content for Apple TV+ has tripled in two years, supporting the growth of the audiovisual sector.

Obviously, Apple recalls its beautiful local works, such as the collaboration with The King’s Trust since 2019 to promote STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) skills through learning programs. Or even with Caius Housean organization for young adults in London, to which Apple donated Macs and iPads to promote digital education.

We’ve relied on our customers in the UK for over 40 years, and we’re proud of our deep connection with communities across this country. We’re excited to grow our Apple teams here and continue to support the extraordinary innovators, creators, and entrepreneurs who are pushing the boundaries of technology in so many ways. (Tim Cook)

The visit and the initiatives highlighted illustrate Apple’s desire to consolidate its presence in Europe while strengthening its economic, technological and societal impact in United Kingdom, small island in the middle of the EU. Apple’s strategy in the country, including education and support for creators, could continue to inspire other multinationals to invest in innovative local projects.
