It’s done, Club Brugge has crossed the ten point mark in the Champions League. The Blauw & Zwart confirm their excellent campaign and are in a very good position to reach the play-offs.
It took blood, sweat and tears, but Club Brugge defeated Sporting CP this Tuesday evening. A victory which brings the Blauw & Zwart to 14th place with ten points, a total which should be sufficient for the top 24.
However, the gap with Feyenoord, 25th, is only three points. “I think, however, that it will be enough, because ten teams still have to surpass Bruges. It’s really a lot” declared Marc Degryse on the set of VTM.
For Frank Boeckx too, the Venice of the North club validated its qualification by winning against the Portuguese. “After the defeat against Dortmund, I immediately said that we were going to have to wait for the other matches, because there were possibilities. And now Aston Villa and Sporting CP have been beaten at the Jan Breydel.”
The fine analysis of Rik de Mil
A victory of which Rik de Mil, Charleroi coach formerly on the Blauw & Zwart bench, was convinced. “He told me between the hour mark and the 75th minute, when the Club was going through a difficult moment, that they were going to score and win. He knew the substitutions would have an impact,” Frank Boeckx continued.
“I thought he was crazy, but look what happened next. And I can already tell you, Juventus won’t have it easy here either” concluded the former goalkeeper, analyst , he too, on the set of VTM.
