Explosion in The Hague: nighttime searches failed to find other victims
“The rescue services did not find any other victims during the search in the collapsed building,” said the firefighters.
“Dogs (…) were also deployed during searches in the unsecured part of the building. They found nothing either. It was then decided to end the search,” they added. .
Police are still unsure of the cause of the explosion, but the attorney general told reporters Sunday that there were unspecified indications that it was foul play.
Police are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a car seen leaving the scene at speed at 6:15 a.m. on Saturday.
A detailed search for clues about the cause of the explosion could only begin when the search for victims in the rubble was completed, authorities had said.
There is, however, no evidence that the building housed a drug laboratory, which has been the cause of previous explosions in the country, police said.
