Red Bull appieda Perez
The inevitable has arrived: Sergio Perez is out of the Red Bull. The performance of the Mexican, demolished by the comparison with Max, was too insufficient, sometimes bordering on unjustifiable. Verstappen and the main reason why the Milton Keynes team only finished third in the Constructors’ World Championship.
Nonetheless, Perez will be remembered fondly by the team as an integral part of the golden period that gave Red Bull four drivers’ titles, two constructors’ World Championships and a 2023 that will remain in F1 history for the dominance it imposed on the competition.
Horner’s words
Commenting on Perez’s farewell, team principal Christian Horner he had sweet words for his now ex-pilot: “I would like to thank Checo for everything he has done for Red Bull over the last four seasons. Since joining us in 2021, he has proven himself to be an extraordinary team man, helping us to two constructors’ titles and our first 1-2 in the drivers’ championship“.
“His five victories, all on road circuits, were a spectacular sign of his determination to always push himself to the limit. Even if Checo will not race for the team next season, he will always be an extremely popular member of the team and a valuable part of our history. Thanks, Checo”.
