The Dutch Grand Prix, which takes place on the Zandvoort circuit, will disappear from the F1 calendar after the 2026 edition.
Returning to the F1 calendar since 2021, the Dutch Grand Prix has extended its contract with F1 until 2026, which will then be the last edition of the event. Note that this 2026 edition will be contested in a Sprint format, a first in Zandvoort.
“After much thought and discussion, the promoter has made the decision not to remain on the calendar after 2026,” also indicates the F1 press release.

Domenicali: “We respect the promoter’s decision to end his incredible journey in 2026”
“I am incredibly grateful to the Dutch Grand Prix team for the work they have done over the last few years,” said Stefano Domenicali, CEO of F1. “They have raised the bar for European Grands Prix in terms of spectacle and entertainment, supported the development of young talent by hosting F2, F3 and our F1 Academy series, and have also pioneered sustainable solutions that have inspired our events around the world, as we strive to be Net Zero by 2030.”
“All parties have worked together positively to find a solution to extend the race, with many options including alternative or annual events on the table, and we respect the promoter’s decision to complete its incredible run in 2026. I would like to thank the entire Dutch Grand Prix team and the municipality of Zandvoort, who have been fantastic partners for Formula 1.”
Robert van Overdijk, director of the Dutch Grand Prix, added: “We are a private company and we must balance the opportunities presented by continuing to organize the event with other risks and responsibilities. We have decided to leave in style with two more incredible Dutch Grands Prix in 2025 and 2026.”
“We wanted to make this decision while our event is loved and supported by passionate fans, residents and the Formula 1 community. I would like to thank Stefano Domenicali and the entire Formula 1 team for their hard work which has allowed us to carry out numerous contract extensions and make the Dutch Grand Prix such a success.”
