Donald TrumpPresident-elect of the United States, announced last night (French time) his presence in France this Saturday December 7. On his Truth Social network, Trump said he will attend the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedralthus marking his first international trip since his recent election.
“I have the honor to announce that I will be traveling to Paris, France on Saturday to attend the reopening of the magnificent and historic Notre-Dame Cathedral.which was completely restored after a devastating fire five years ago,” he wrote. He also welcomed the “remarkable work” accomplished under the leadership of President Emmanuel Macron.
Among the American personalities, first lady Jill Biden will also be present during the ceremony, as confirmed by the Élysée at the end of November.
The reopening of Notre Damea jewel of Gothic architecture listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, is a historic moment. Ravaged by a fire in 2019, the cathedral attracted nearly 12 million visitors each year before the disaster. The festivities on December 7 will close with an evening concert.
