A fire broke out this Tuesday, December 3, in Bourgneuf-en-Retz, a delegated municipality of Villeneuve-en-Retz. The fire apparently started in a vehicle before spreading to a garage, then setting the house ablaze. Emergency services were notified around noon. Eighteen firefighters and five engines were involved in the intervention. An elected official and the national gendarmerie came to the scene. Enedis cut off electricity in the area to secure the emergency response.

Significant material damage

The owner of the house was not there when the fire broke out. According to our initial information, no casualties have been reported. On the other hand, the fire caused significant material damage. The occupants should be relocated with relatives.
