Alan Ramborough, 32, who confessed to the murder of little Elodie Kathalea Gaspard, 7, committed in Bain-des-Dames on Friday evening, is still admitted to hospital. He remains under observation and under police surveillance. At this stage of the investigation, he has not yet given his full version of the facts to the sleuths of the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT) who have taken over. Once he is released from hospital, he will be brought before the court on a provisional charge of murder.
Sunday afternoon, sleuths from the MCIT and those from the Criminal Investigation Division of Port Louis South carried out a raid not far from the Bain-des-Dames cemetery where the body of the little girl was found. The police found shorts belonging to the suspect, the victim’s sandals and underwear. These exhibits were sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis.
